Stainless Pipe Types

Stainless steel pipes are commercially manufactured in two ways: welded and drawn. Welded pipes are generally produced by two different methods: HF (high frequency) welding and TIG (tungsten inert gas) welding. While welded pipes are mostly used for decorative purposes, drawn pipes are preferred in high pressure processes.

Stainless pipes are divided into two main categories, welded and seamless, and are produced this way. Seamless stainless pipes are generally used in high-pressure environments, and since they are produced in pieces, they provide greater resistance to high pressure. Welded pipes are generally used in low pressure lines and for architectural purposes. In terms of price, welded pipes are more economical than seamless ones.

There are two basic types in the production of stainless pipes:

Seamless (Tensile) Stainless Pipe:

It is produced in one piece.

It is durable and resistant to high pressure.

It is workable and useful.

Welded (Welded) Stainless Pipe:

It is produced in sheet form and then turned into a pipe by welding.

It is less durable than seamless pipes.

It is generally used in low pressure lines and for architectural purposes.

The usage areas of stainless pipes are quite wide. Some examples include:

Pharmaceutical industry.

Kitchen and furniture decoration.

Petrochemical industry.

Spacecraft and truck construction.

Expense creation processes related to urban transformation.

Food industry.

Aircraft and shipbuilding.

Important factors to consider in stainless steel pipe manufacturing are:

Durability: Stainless steel is resistant to corrosion, which ensures the long life of the pipes.

Hygiene: It is used especially in places where hygiene is important, such as the food industry.

Compatibility: It must be designed in accordance with industrial applications.

Diversity: Different steel types and qualities are used to meet different needs.

Welding types used in the production of welded stainless pipes include TIG welding, HF welding and laser welding. These types of welding have an impact on the durability and appearance of the pipes. TIG welding generally provides a more durable structure, but is a longer process. HF welding offers a faster process, but is slightly weaker in terms of durability than TIG welding. Laser welding, on the other hand, requires precise work and is generally not as durable as TIG welding.

Prices of stainless pipes vary depending on factors such as steel quality, production method and type.
